Stephen Gendel
STEPHEN develops and executes media and messaging strategies for the healthcare industry based on his twin careers in PR and journalism.
At Chandler Chicco Agency, Stephen worked with pharmaceutical, diagnostic and biotech clients on global media programs. Previously, he was a vice president at Noonan/Russo Presence, providing strategic communications counsel to national and international clients on issues that included investor visibility, product approvals, acquisitions, and crisis management.
Prior to his work in PR, Stephen had a distinguished career as an award-winning broadcast journalist, covering health and medicine for more than 20 years in Washington, Los Angeles and New York. Stephen was among the first television medical reporters in this country, a beat he helped create at the CBS television station in Washington, D.C. Stephen also provided medical reports to CBS television stations nationwide, and he was medical correspondent for the CBS news program "Nightwatch with Charlie Rose."
Stephen later moved to NBC in Los Angeles covering medical news for KNBC, as well as for NBC television stations nationwide. In 1991 he joined the pioneering financial cable network CNBC where he served for six years as chief science and medical correspondent covering consumer and financial health issues. Stephen has also worked for national radio services including CBS radio, NBC radio and Mutual News. Stephen's work as a reporter has earned him three Emmy's and the prestigious Peabody Award. He earned a B.A. from Boston University and is fluent in Spanish.
