Barbara Lindheim

As vice president of strategic communications at Orchid BioSciences, she directed all investor relations and corporate communications for this global genomics innovator. At Edelman Public Relations, Barbara was a senior vice president designing marketing communications programs for global pharmaceutical and emerging healthcare companies. At Noonan/Russo Communications, she managed investor relations and corporate communications programs for leading North American and European biotechnology, specialty pharmaceutical, and diagnostic firms, providing counsel on product and technology launches, mergers and acquisitions, FDA regulatory reviews, financings, and investor relations strategy and tactics.
At SmithKline Beecham, Barbara identified new opportunities for the Worldwide Business Development Group. At Sterling Winthrop, she was founding director of a pioneering Strategic Marketing group, where she developed global marketing programs for cardiovascular, oncology, diagnostic, immunology, and women's healthcare products. At Pfizer, she helped launch the first pharmaceutical consumer advertising campaign. Early in her career, Barbara managed health advocacy programs at The Alan Guttmacher Institute and co-authored a book on reproductive health policy.
A graduate of Cornell University, Barbara earned an M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School and an M.P.A. from Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. She lectures on biotech and pharmaceutical strategy at leading business schools.
